Immigration: Issues for a New America
Online Seminar
November 17-21, 2008

Sign up by October 13

This online seminar will examine the demographics of immigration, impact on the economy and social services and the outlook for national policy changes.

Knight Center seminars give print, broadcast and online journalists in-depth training, new sources and story ideas. Participants get grounded in a new assignment or rekindle enthusiasm for a long-time beat. Seminar experts will be from top research institutions, government, business and the media.

There is a $100 fee for this online seminar. The fee will cover multiple participants from one organization.

Registration for the seminar will end October 13.

Instructions on how to sign up for this seminar will be posted in Spring 2008.

The Knight Center is funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and is a professional program of the University of Maryland's Philip Merrill College of Journalism. Applicants must work for independent news organizations or be independent freelance or online journalists. The Knight Center seeks diversity among participants.

Contact the Knight Center at 301/405-4817, or e-mail us at knight@umd.edu.
